The Farmers Manifesto was developed with responses from over 100 districts of Uganda that were reached through Questionnaires, Key Informant Interviews, radio programmes, sensitization meetings and farmer to farmers reach out.
The key issues that came out strongly are mainly: Water production, Access to quality Agricultural inputs,Market access and cooperatives, Mechanization and Agro processing, Agriculture extension services and research and Access to financing.
During the launch the Minister of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries Hon Vincent Bamulngaki told the farmers to use and engage the farmers because their sector is one of the most crucial sectors of the country.
The ict4fatmers initiative is will be bridging the cap and handling the issues that these farmers from these districts sited.
